In the news

You may have seen in the news that bombs exploded on Friday in Bangalore and then again last night in Ahmedabad. Both locations are very far away from us and we are fine.

Today is cooking day and for the week ahead (and tonight) we made:

  • Split pea soup (Diana and Arvydas - I hear there's a story in this for you - card on the way)
  • Italian Gravy (AKA marinara sauce and thanks again Aunt Margie)
  • Spanish Tortilla with red peppers (AKA Fritata and thank you Aunt Margie in
    Spain). Picture included
  • Freshly ground Garam Masala spice
  • Tandoori chicken
  • Saffron Rice
  • Naan
  • Hard boiled eggs (boring but it's our go-to for safe to eat, decent food).

We did not take a picture of everything because that is too obnoxious. By the way, it is A LOT easier to grind your own spices than I thought.

Side note: People cut in line all the time here. More importantly, other people let them. Apparently there is a group of people who are allowed to do it. I can't figure it out and it is only a matter of time before I am going to get New Jersey rude on them.

Don't have to get all Jersey on em' and be the obnoxious round eye from America.

Another solution = a bus transfer and dress like any one of those chinese ladies in china town hurry to catch the bus.

'New Jersey rude', is that what you call it? (I'm from Irvington) I thought it was just me. People seem to like to push right past me until I tell them, the pushy person and the cashier, that 'I was here first, deal with me, please'. (Can't be too rude)
