This Weekend

Well, we did manage to get to Delhi yesterday after some complications with our driver who didn't show and was unreachable. I'm hoping that the people in our relocation department don't get fed up with too many calls on the weekends. But they were able to secure another driver for us. We went to a market called Dilli Haat which was nice although it was a bit difficult to ward off the vendors and leisurely walk around. We bought a very cool backgammon board so we have something to do when the monsoon rains keep us inside. Then we went to Joe's school in Hauz Khas Market to finalize some paperwork. We walked around there for awhile and found a used bookstore and an organic food shop. After that, we went to the Taj Palace Hotel for drinks and dinner. I thought Joe would want to see it because it was our other option for residence here. He says he doesn't regret the decision to get an apartment instead and I hope that's true. The hotel is really amazing. Then we came home and decided to walk down the road a bit by our house and we found a great place for drinks and food. We're so happy to have a place close by. We met some interesting people from Dublin which was really nice. Today we stayed home. I worked for awhile, we watched movies, and are still trying to get comfortable with lighting our stove with a lighter every time we want to use a burner and doing the laundry outside on the balcony. It's all harder to get used to than I might have guessed, but we'll get there.
