Jewish Quarter in Kochi

We are still catching up with posts from Kerala a couple of weeks ago. So I have decided to intersperse this one with the Australia ones in spite of the fact that we are already back from Sydney. The timing is perfect because my Mom just sent us a book review from the August 16th issue of The Economist. The book, "The Last Jews of Kerala: The 2,000 Year History of India's Forgotten Jewish Community" includes the exact same picture you see here with the "Jew Cemetery" and "Jew Town Road" signs in it. As I have said before, what we saw of Kochi included quite a few houses of different religions, the variety and numbers of which we have not seen in the other parts of India we have visited. Also, and kind of ironically, tons of communist flags, whatever that means.
