Man bites Lizard

Ok, so flights were delayed yesterday because a group of Monitor lizards (and Jackals, and whatever Kites are) wandered on to the runways and had to be taken off. This comes not by word of mouth but was on the front page of the Hindustan Times (click link below for Article):

Now we live about 20 kilometers outside of Delhi, that means that there must, must, must be Monitor lizards here. Charging the battery for our camera as we speak. I love this place. Monitor lizards. By the way, Man bites Lizard might be a new category for postings in this blog.

So listen, this evening I was listening to KQED public radio in San Francisco (over the web of course), AND THEY AIRED THE STORY ABOUT THE MONITOR LIZARDS AT DELHI AIRPORT!! You know what then means? That means I am your man on the street in India. You heard it here first. This is "Scoop" McGann, and I'm outta here.

I'm more surprised you are using foreign words like 20 "KILOMETERS"....you guys are adopting to the environment like lizards your selves! Darwin would be so proud.

Kites are raptors with long wings and weak legs which spend a great deal of time soaring. In general they feed on carrion but may also take live prey.

They are birds of prey which along with hawks, eagles, Old World vultures and many others are in the family Accipitridae.

Dude, get a big bucket of Bactine, because if one of those lizards chomps on you, you are going to have to soak in it to kill all the germs. ewww. Best wishes in coming back with all fingers and toes intact with a creature like that running amok.
