One of perhaps two dozen shopping malls in Gurgaon. I would also like to mention that it is hard to price things here. The market is what you can get for it. Water for example. I went to a store the other day and someone tried to charge me 90 rupees for a liter of water. Today I went to another store and was charged 12 rupees. No one know what to charge or what to pay. In some ways, it's like the Wild West of the United States in the 19th century.

That's crazy stuff. I would go bonkers if there was no consistency in pricing. Is inflation a problem there? Just read about Zimbabwe's problem - apparently inflation is at 1,000,000%. A pound of coffee is 1 Billion Zimbabwean dollars. Check it out it's out of control.....

While it appears inflation is an issue, fortunately, it doesn't seem to be that bad. Or maybe it is. We're still a little clueless.

HELP! We move to Delhi in July with our four kids for a two year stint. I am now getting nervous. What do mum's do when there kids are at school? How do you get to meet other mums?

The mall looks eerily like Schaumburg's Streets of Woodfield. Gotta love consumerism.

Consumerism is the new way of life here, Mary Kay! It's a mixed bag. Hard to to embrace it but difficult to judge.

Bigbluebear - we don't have kids so we haven't been trying to get connected in the same way you will. Unfortunately, we don't have a lot of advice in that area. But from everything we've read in our research, India is supposed to be a great place for families - from anywhere. Not sure where you're coming from. If there is anything at all we can do, please let us know. Let us know when you're here.
